Though our years of experience, in the US and across the world, we have developed a curated team of design industry experts. We work consistently with a core team — but can call upon an even broader network as appropriate. This to deliver the best possible quality support AND to work lean!

Susan Hopper / founding partner

Susan has directed award-winning projects for several of the world’s leading agencies. She is inspired by fine art, architecture, travel and the talented people she has worked with throughout her career.

Susan was a design nomad at the beginning of her career. Her design skills and love of travel took her to New York, San Francisco, London, Toronto, Los Angeles and Sydney — on a seemingly perpetual quest to discover the perfect design studio. She finally realized that New York is that place!

Susan believes in creating a unique brand voice for each client, and extending it from naming and logo design — though to print and interactive media.

Susan is an adjunct professor at FIT within the Communications and Packaging departments, and has also taught at the Masters in Branding program at SVA. She believes students benefit from working with professors who are active designers, and she focusses on setting real world design challenges within the curriculum.

Marcus Hewitt / founding partner

Marcus is a design leader who has built award-winning teams for several of the world’s leading agencies. Before founding Yellow, he was ECD with Dragon Rouge, following 13 years as Founding Partner and CCO of Sterling Brands in New York.

He started his career with Pentagram in London and helped establish the Michael Peters Group in London, Toronto and Los Angeles.

He has lead major new identity and packaging programs for clients including: Burger King, Givaudan Roare, Constellation Wines, Pepsi, Diageo, El Paso Energy, The Getty Museum, Unilever, Pernod Ricard, VegaOne, AB InBev and Tsingtao. His “sweet spot” is transforming challenger brands!

He is an active member of the AIGA and a past member of its board. He believes designers have an essential role to promote responsible design, and is always happy to contribute his skills to non-profits. He has spoken at many conferences and when he’s not designing, you'll find him with a power tool renovating a property somewhere!
